Campcraft is an excellent summer day camp for students who are new to camping or even experienced campers. They will learn how to camp, how to set up a tent, camp cooking, campfire safety, and much more. We will also cover the outdoor code, outdoor ethics, and leave no trace. We will make useful camp gadgets and other camp crafts.

Drop Off Child 7-8am at Trail Blazer Office on South side of Park Place Children’s Center main entrance.
Monday: Camp Setup
Campers learn about camping basics, outdoor code/ethics and will set up different tents. After lunch campers will spend the afternoon discussing actually doing different setups for Hammock and tarp shelters.
Tuesday: Camp Fire
Campers will learn campfire safety, and different fire methods. (Matches, ferro rods, flint and steel, fire piston) Campers will learn about leave no trace and its importance.
Fire Challenge: Water Boiling Challenge
Campers learn ways to make camp more like home. Cover basic knots and lashings. Work together to build camp crafts: camp table, camp chairs, water station, camp gadgets etc.
Thursday: Camp Cooking
Campers discuss cooking safety. They will cook different camp meals; Skillet meal / Bush pot meal / Skewered meat / ash cakes / etc. Campers will learn primitive and pioneer cooking methods.
Friday: Fishing Fun
Campers spend the day teaching fishing. If we catch a fish – campers will learn how to clean and cook.
